Working for Anoka County
We must invest in our police officers, not defund them. We have a great Sheriff's Office here in Anoka County. I am committed to keeping our community safe and supporting law enforcement.
Over the last 10 years we have kept taxes low and slashed county debt by $122 million! Holding the line on property taxes keeps more money in the pocket of our citizens and business owners.
My top priority is to see Hwy 65 rebuilt for our growing community. Early in my tenure on the county board, we opened the interchange at Main St and Hwy 65, creating safety and alleviating congestion. We have started the process for reconstruction of Hwy 65, reduced congestion on Highway 10 and I-35W, and rebuilt Main Street.
Anoka County partnered with all 21 cities/township, Connexus Energy and Metro North Chamber and others to develop a comprehensive plan to support business attraction and growth within Anoka County
Between the 2nd quarter of 2018 and 2019, Anoka was the state’s 2nd largest-growing county creating 2,174 jobs. Our total employment increased by 1.75% which was 2.1 times faster than the state’s rate.
With the devastating impact to local businesses due to the COVID-19 shutdown, a one-stop shop for ever-changing resource information was created on our county website to assist businesses.
